BEGINNER TO WHITE COLLAR PROGRAM
So, you want to experience what it’s like to get in the ring and fight. Your biggest concern is probably whether or not you’re going to get beaten up and go to work with black eyes or bruises. The answer is no.
White collar boxing, a social recreational activity, calls upon professionals looking to pursue goal-orientated training while developing themselves mentally, physically and technically in a controlled environment.
For this program, you’ll work with other guys/gals who have less than 6 months experience, and your experienced, professional coach will moderate the level of contact. You’ll learn techniques and fundamentals that will enable you to protect yourself and feel confident!

“I felt very prepared because of the excellent training, and also because I knew the whole team was backing me all the way. I felt calm, not nervous and all in all it was a good experience. What it’s done is raised my confidence and made me want to take on more challenges.”

IN CASE YOU’RE WONDERING
Is this boxing fitness/boxercise?
No. White Collar Boxing is a contact sport in a controlled environment aimed at individuals looking to maximise the time they have to dedicate towards their physical health while experiencing the intensity and challenge of being in the ring and learning to fight.
What’s the difference between White Collar Boxing and amateur boxing?
White-collar boxing is a form of boxing in which men and women in white-collar professions train to fight at special events. Most have had no prior boxing experience.
Bouts are usually three 2-minute rounds (“3×2” format), unlike the longer three 3-minute rounds (3×3) in the Amateur Code for men and 4×2 format for women. Bouts are purely an exhibition, meaning there is no formal winner or loser.
Sixteen-ounce gloves are standard in the white-collar-boxing ring in order to protect competitors from heavy blows and hand injuries. Headgear, groin protectors, and mouthguards are obligatory requirements inside the ring.
Is 12 weeks enough time to develop the skills I need?
Yes. When we began entering our guys into White Collar Boxing (WCB) competitions, we would smoke our opponents. It wouldn’t even be competitive. As time went on, the fights became more competitive until Brendon chatted to another gym owner who we were competing against, and the owner revealed that his competitor had been training 4 times as long as our guy. It seems that’s pretty much the standard the WCB organisers use to measure the quality of our guys.
What that means for you is that your 12 weeks of training is equal to a year of training anywhere else.
We get it. You’re busy, your time is valuable, there are deadlines which have to be met and you definitely can’t meet your next client with a black eye.
Our White Collar Boxing program maximises the hours you spend in the gym – providing benefits long after class is over while ensuring your safety is a priority.
Benefits of White Collar Boxing for professionals working 9-5:
- Outlet for aggression
- Physical stress outlet
- Social interaction with like-minded professionals
- A maximised workout in an hour
- An entirely new kind of mental development
- Total body conditioning
DO I NEED TO TRY LOSE AS MUCH WEIGHT AS POSSIBLE?
Generally, White Collar Boxing matches are matched up on an informal basis, rather than in formal weight classes, with opponents being within 5 kgs of each other. So if you weigh 70kg, you’ll fight someone who is anywhere from 65kg to 75kg.
WHO WILL I COMPETE AGAINST?
If it’s your first White Collar Boxing fight, you’ll fight an opponent who has had no more than 2 previous White Collar bouts.
IF I'M ONLY IN THE GYM 2 DAYS A WEEK IS IT ENOUGH?
Our coaches will give you homework to do if you want to get extra work in. You’ll be able to drill stuff on your own that’ll give you an added edge.
