Ladies Only Boxing/TRX/Yoga Classes

What do classes involve?

Marilyn van HeerdenMarilyn runs classes that are a combination of TRX & Boxing, with core Yoga exercises brought in.

For the ladies, body conditioning and toning for bums and tums which is the area ladies want to focus on. Ladies don’t want to bulk their shoulders and biceps, they’re different, so she focuses on those areas.

She focuses on legs one day, arms one day and one day a more focused core session. She’s never done the same class twice, ever. She keeps it fresh and interesting.

She can individualise and specialise the class to keep the ladies working at a level they are capable of. If they can’t do the TRX, she will use body weight exercises. She can modify to work around injuries and inflexibility.

I feel on top of the world. I’m energised, I can go for miles without getting tired. I just won a 22km race at my child’s school! I just want to take on challenges.

I’ve lost lots of centimetres, and that’s what counts. My clothes sit better. I’m more comfortable and more confident in my own skin. My life has changed for the better. I was an emotion wreck before. I had lost a close friend and I was in a terrible place, depressed and gaining weight. Now I’ve weened myself off the pills and stuff. I sleep much better. I’m on a natural high. Even my husband says I’m a much nicer person.

Class structure

  • Warm up 10 mins
  • Boxing & TRX 15 – 25 mins
  • Body Conditioning 15 – 25 mins
  • Yoga Exercises & Stretching – 10 mins

I first began training with Marilyn around 6 years ago. I rapidly improved my fitness level, and stamina. I have never gotten results like these from any other trainer. I believe this is because Marilyn not only understands the science of personal training, she also understands the science of motivation. When you feel like you can’t keep going, Marilyn will get you there.

No matter what your fitness goals, I am certain that Marilyn will be more than able to help you get there. Please know that I give her my highest ratings, and will happily continue to train with her myself.

I love training with Marilyn. It’s fun and exciting, she makes it fun. Marilyn motivates and encourages, and she makes sure the exercise is done right. She works out muscles you didn’t know you had.

I can see definition. I love it when my extended family don’t see me for two weeks and then tell me how much weight I’ve lost!

I have so much more energy. I know if I don’t come I’ll have a shit day. For the first time in my life, I’m not suffering from insomnia.
